Come experience the magic of indigo! You will learn how to create an indigo vat while learning about Shibori techniques. Shibori produces unique patterns on natural fabrics by various ways of folding, binding, clamping, and stitching the material. Materials are included but you are welcome to bring an extra midsized piece such as a white tea towel or t-shirt. Please wear older clothing that could get stained or bring an apron.
Join Grace Wittig, textile artist of Silk and Sumac, who will take us step-by-step through the process and flower farmer, Janet, in the rolling hills outside Newmarket at Country Cut Flowers for a fun and educational event. Light, and yummy, snacks are provided. You will also cut a small posy of flowers. Small class size.
