Join Mary Espinosa for this inspiring late summer workshop at Country Cut Flowers.

Plein Air is a unique way to paint. The relationship between the artist and nature creates a relaxing atmosphere that can be seen in the painting. Mary will be teaching how to simplify the scene, colour mixing and theory, composing skills, and how to capture natural light. Mary will focus on shapes to build the composition, while building the scene by adding values and colours. The brush stroke movement creates the impression of the scene we are seeing and will enrich the painting.

We will be working primarily outdoors, inspired by the beautiful flower gardens and surrounding rolling hills. You will create a beautiful painting on a 16"x20" wood panel, using either oils or acrylics.

The painting pictured here is an example of the type of painting you'll create - it will vary according to the flowers in bloom at that time.

This workshop is open to all levels. All materials are included in the fee. It will be a fun and relaxing experience.

And when you're done you can cut a little posy of flowers!

Join Mary, art teacher + artist, and flower farmer, Janet, in the rolling hills outside Newmarket at Country Cut Flowers for a creative morning. Light and yummy refreshments will also be provided. Small class size.
